Public Meetings Law Grievances
A person who believes that a governing body (including City Council, Salem Housing Authority Commission, Urban Renewal Agency Board, and all other City of Salem boards and commissions) has acted in violation of ORS 192.610 to 192.690, may, within 30 days of the alleged violation, file a written grievance with the public body whose governing body is alleged to have violated ORS 192.610 to 192.690, setting forth the specific facts and circumstances that the person asserts amounted to a violation of ORS 192.610 to 192.690. The grievance must state the identity of the person filing the grievance and any other information required by the Oregon Government Ethics Commission (OGEC). How to file a written grievance:
Submit the grievance in writing within 30 calendar days of the date the alleged violation occurred by using one of the following methods:

Response from Public Body:
Grievances will be responded to within 21 calendar days. The City’s response will be sent to the individual that filed the grievance and to the Oregon Government Ethics Commission (OGEC).
