McGilchrist Urban Renewal Area

The McGilchrist Urban Renewal Area (URA) was established in September 2006. It encompasses approximately 403 acres west of the Salem Municipal Airport (McNary Field). 

Purpose of the McGilchrist URA

The McGilchrist URA provides funding to enhance McGilchrist Street SE in order to improve mobility and stimulate private development.

When the urban renewal district was first established, property values were assessed and key projects were identified. Project plans are subject to change at the direction of the Urban Renewal Agency.
