Substance use continues to impact public safety, livability and community wellbeing. It remains one of the top concerns identified by the community.

Our goal is to lower substance use and improve health in our community.

Our Approach

We will take a comprehensive approach to understand the system, clarify roles, identify gaps, strengthen coordination and inform future strategy.

Prevent

  • Avoid and deter misuse and disorder
  • Redirect or divert from risky behavior
  • Build resiliency to reduce the likelihood of risky or harmful behavior
  • Improve system coordination

Treat

  • Connect individuals to behavioral health and recovery services
  • Align efforts with county and regional partners
  • Support access to care

Enforce

  • Reduce or eliminate flow of drugs
  • Hold those who are distributing accountable and deter others
