The Fairview Plan is a master plan that guides future development within the Fairview Mixed-Use Zone. This zone applies to the 275-acre former Fairview Training Center site in South Salem. The site is bordered by Reed Road, Pringle Road, Strong Road and Battlecreek Road.

The plan was approved in 2005 and is part of the Salem Revised Code Chapter 530.

Purpose of the Fairview Plan

The Fairview Plan establishes goals and policies to promote redevelopment that:

• Supports sustainability
• Encourages mixed-use development
• Provides more housing and transportation options
• Preserves open spaces
• Protects natural features
