Current Recommended Neighborhood Traffic Management Projects

Overview of Neighborhood Traffic Projects

The City budget includes funding to support a small number of Neighborhood Traffic projects each year. These projects are chosen based on the Neighborhood Traffic Management Plan, which prioritizes requests submitted through the Safer Streets page. For 2025, the City has recommended five projects for consideration (see map for general locations).

Why These Projects Matter

These projects aim to improve safety and traffic flow in neighborhoods. They address concerns raised by residents and help create safer streets for everyone, including drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists. By working on these improvements, the City supports the community's goal of making neighborhoods more livable and secure.

Types of Projects

The recommended projects fall into two main categories:

  • Neighborhood Traffic Calming
    • These projects focus on reducing vehicle speeds and improving safety in residential areas.
  • Neighborhood Stop Sign Plans
    • These projects involve adding or adjusting stop signs to improve traffic control and safety at intersections.

Community Involvement

Before moving forward with any project, City staff works closely with local Neighborhood Associations and residents near the proposed project sites. This collaboration ensures that the projects meet the needs of the community and address specific concerns.
