This project will resurface the roadway and replace the associated non-compliant Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) curb ramps within the project limits. Work will also include striping and some minor signal modifications.

Additionally, this project is being combined with water utility work funded through a utility rates fund. Two segments of aging waterlines along Commercial Street SE will be replaced as part of this project.

The project limits on Commercial Street SE are from South of 12th Street Cut-Off SE to North of Boone Road SE.

The 2026 Pavement R&R project has an additional paving location on Doaks Ferry Road NW from South of Brush College Drive NW to North of Emerald Drive NW. Please see the “Doaks Ferry Road Pavement Rehabilitation Project” webpage for more information on this portion of the project.

Construction is planned for early 2026 and expected to last through the end of 2026.

During construction, vehicle access may be impacted. Traffic control signs, detour routes, and flaggers will be on-site to direct traffic through the impacted areas. Access for pedestrians, including those with disabilities, will be available and identified through or around the work zones. A bike detour route will be available. Night work will be necessary to complete this project.

Businesses will remain open during both the design and construction phases.
