Project Information

The Safety and Livability Bond was passed by Salem voters in November 2022 and included funds for pavement rehabilitation of Silverton Road NE from 17th Street NE to Williams Avenue NE and from Beacon Street NE to Fisher Road NE.

This project will include resurfacing of the roadway and replacing non-compliant Americans with Disabilities Act curb ramps, replacement of two traffic signals, installation of three new pedestrian crossings and restriping of the roadway corridor to include a road diet to add bike lanes on both sides of Silverton Road. The improvements also include installing cured-in-place pipe along three sewer main sections in Evergreen Avenue, Silverton Road, and Lana Avenue.

Funding for the project comes from the 2022 Safety and Livability Bond, intersection improvements funded by the Urban Renewal Area at 17th Street NE and Silverton Road NE, utility fund and Safe Routes to School state funding.
