As a neighbor of the property, I appreciate the notice I received in the mail about this proposal. I waited to read the staff report and want to express my support for the staff report's recommendation that this proposal be denied. I found it strange and a little suspicious that the applicant's explanation and materials seemed to focus on the other industrial/commercial properties nearby and ignored the fact that it's directly across from an apartment complex, which made me think they had plans for the property that may make them a less than stellar neighbor. Thanks for the opportunity to comment. I also wanted to offer a side note that the written notice I received has a couple of bad links -- the link to the staff report was incorrect but I was able to find it myself. I also noticed that it said comments could be submitted online at https://egov.cityofsalem.net/PlanningComments but this issue is not found in that public comment portal.
