September 12, 2019

The offices of Mayor, of City Councilors for Wards 1, 3, 5, and 7 are open for election in 2020. September 12, 2019, is the first day you can file to run for office in the City of Salem primary election.

Salem Splash Fountains are Closed for the 2019 Season

September 11, 2019

As of Friday, September 13, 2019, all park splash fountains will be closed for the season. These include Wes Bennett Park, Northgate Park, West Salem Park, Fairmount Park, River Road Park, Englewood Park, and Riverfront Park splash fountains.

Road Closures for Sunday, September 15, 2019 Rotary Multi-Sport Riverfest

September 11, 2019

Several temporary road closures will be in effect between 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 15, 2019 to accommodate the 2019 Salem Rotary Multisport Riverfest.

We Need Your Help Selecting Play Equipment for Secor Park

September 10, 2019

The City of Salem is asking for input on play equipment for a new playground at Secor Park. A public open house is set for Thursday, September 26, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Crossler Middle School. Come pick from several playground components and concepts.

Wallace Marine Boat Ramp Closed Sunday for Multi-Sport Riverfest

September 9, 2019

The Wallace Marine Park Boat Ramp will be closed from 7:00 a.m. through 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 15. This closure is needed to accommodate the annual Rotary Multi-Sport Riverfest event. This year’s event will include Triathlon (Olympic and Sprint), Duathlon (Olympic and Sprint), 5k/10k Runs, Half Marathon, and Family Fun Run. A party will be held in Riverfront Park at the end of the event.

Dying Well series offers important information

September 5, 2019

Dying Well is a three-part informational series focused on end-of-life services, planning, and choices. Sessions are planned for 7 p.m. on Tuesdays (September 10, 17, and 24) in Anderson Rooms A&B. All three events are free and open to the public and offer a chance to discuss end-of-life issues with local experts.
