Library: New Location, New Hours

February 13, 2020

Salem Public Library at Broadway, 1400 Broadway St NE, opens Tuesday, February 18. Located on the corner of Broadway and Hood, SPL at Broadway offers books, music, DVDs, and public computer access for children, teens, and adults. The building is equipped with a book drop, free wifi, a 61-space parking lot, and a bicycle rack.

Best Books of 2019 list now available

February 3, 2020

Meet Salem Public Library’s Best Books 2019 – an annual list that celebrates books of interest to adult readers, as nominated by library patrons and staff combined with picks from critics and the publishing world. The list includes 104 highly appealing fiction and nonfiction picks, cluing in readers to top and indie picks they might have missed. Copies are available to view or print online or to pick up at a Salem Public Library location.

Salem Public Library at Broadway will open February 18, 2020 at 1400 Broadway St. NE, to serve while the Main Library is undergoing a seismic and safety renovation project.

Online library services—access to the library catalog and downloading of eBooks and audiobooks—will be available throughout the move and construction phases.

The West Salem Branch, 395 Glen Creek Rd. NW, will be open and maintain services throughout the move and construction phases.
