2019 Salem Reads Kicks Off offers events, activities throughout February

Good Morning, Midnight, a novel by Lily Brooks-Dalton will be the third annual Salem Reads book. The Salem Public Library Foundation, which sponsors the annual community-wide reading program, encourages all community members to read the book and get ready to participate in discussions and events throughout February 2019.

Kids and Families are Encouraged to Snuggle up and Read this February

January 3, 2019

Kids of all ages and their grown-ups are encouraged to read for at least 15 minutes each day during the month of February. Mark off or color in each day you read as a family or individually during the month of February, and bring your completed reading calendar to the Youth Services Ask Here desk in March to claim a free book for each participating child.

The Great Screen-Free Challenge

Kids who take the screen-free pledge to go screen-free for 7 days (and keep it) will be treated to the Kids’ Late Night Party: Harry Potter Edition, the Sequel, a fun-filled evening of crafts, activities, and treats from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, January 25 on Floors 2 and 3 at Salem Public Library.

Third Annual Mushroom Show Coming to Salem Public Library

November 2, 2018

The 3rd Annual Mushroom Show provides a golden opportunity to learn about the fascinating world of mushrooms and fungi on Saturday, November 10, from noon to 5 p.m. The free show, presented by the Willamette Valley Mushroom Society, is held at the Salem Public Library, 585 Liberty Street SE. Attendees will have the chance to ask questions, find answers, and chat about fungi with people who know and love them, and attend special presentations and workshops about mushrooms.

Little Big Band to Perform at Salem Public Library
